We juice everyday, adding different ingredients here and there, but the basics are always the same...filtered water, lemon, kale :) apples, bananas, cucumber, carrots, & kiwi.
We use all organic ingredients in our "green drink" whenever possible, and only use filtered or spring water.
The ingredients in this juice are chosen for all of their healing properties and the vitamins and minerals they are packed with. A huge plus...the kids love it! The entire family drinks a glass everyday, without fail. The way we make it, we don't use a juicer.
-3 c filtered water
-1/2 bunch lacinato kale, stalks removed
-1 apple, core removed
-1 kiwi, peeled
-2 carrots
-1/2 cucumber
-1/2 lemon, juiced
-2 bananas
This makes enough for all 6 of us to have some, each day.
Water first, then add kale, get that chopped up nicely. Add cucumber, then apple pieces,
carrots, juiced lemon, and peeled kiwi. Make sure it is blended very well. Keep at it for
awhile.
We use a big bowl & a produce bag (or cheesecloth bag)...pour the green juice into the
bag, while holding it over the bowl. Let the juice run through the bag, squeezing it to
separate the juice from the fiber. Pour the juice back into the blender and add bananas.
Keep going until well blended, no large pieces. Viola!! That's how we make our green
drink!
RITUAL #2:
The above picture is of green drink w/ black chia seeds...one of my daily rituals. I have black chias every day, whether in filtered water or green drink. They are loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. They are also great for detoxing the body! This is the main reason that I use them. The gelatinous coating they get after soaking adheres to toxins, drawing them out of the body.
RITUAL #3:
30% raw...At least 30% of every meal that we have is raw. This way we get the benefit of all of the nutrients in these foods. Getting all of the raw fibers also aids in digestion. Our green drink is part of our "raw". :)
Other than the usual...shower, dress, brush teeth, eat, etc...these are the 3 things I do every day. :)
