My thoughts on our food supply, why I choose organic, and why we eat only real foods
We all know that one lie, one falsehood, leads to another...& another...& another, until
the end product has so little of the truth in it that what is left is barely recognizable. This
is what has occurred with our food supply, with the backing and blessing of the FDA and
USDA. One modification, one addition, one mistake, one "correction", has led to
another...& another...& another, until the end product has so little real food in it, and
what is there is barely recognizable as food.
I know that some can't understand why, or how, I pay the premium prices for organics and
the natural products that I buy. First, it is a gradual process; we have slowly started adding
in more organic products as they are available to us. Baby steps, remember? One new
baby step a week. :)
Secondly, and most importantly, consider what we are having to pay a premium
for...food, as God intended, pure, real, food. It is sad that a premium has to be paid to
have food that hasn't been tampered with...food that isn't a lie.
Lastly, I don't consider these products/produce to truly be priced at a premium. I consider
small amounts at ridiculously high prices to be "premium" & frivolous. I don't look at the
amount in terms of volume or weight, but in nutrient density. So, to my thinking it is the
snack cakes, Doritos, and other empty, processed foods that are priced at a premium. $4
for a bag of lies seems pretty steep to me. Compare that to $5 for a bag of nutrient rich,
real, pure organic apples. There's just no comparison. :)
Even these fruit flies know what's up! Check it
